Since the Stella’s Playground campaign kicked off, Stella’s community has shown incredible support for building Milwaukee’s first universally accessible and inclusive playground. Acts of kindness have been constant and inspiring, from the classroom to the broader community.
For example, Stella’s classmates have come together to brainstorm and commit to building a shared free library at the playground as an activity that future visitors of all ages can enjoy. Stella’s classmates celebrated their birthday in the most selfless way—by asking for donations to Stella’s Playground instead of gifts. In a touching display of generosity, Maryland Avenue Montessori teacher Anne Groh matched their $800 contribution to support the campaign. These powerful, thoughtful and heart-warming gestures are acts of kindness that inspire all of us!
Stella’s Playground is rooted in compassion, kindness and the belief that every child deserves a place to belong. The generosity of these students and Groh perfectly exemplifies our values and is helping us take one step closer to building a playground where everyone feels welcome.
We cannot wait to welcome the shining star of a playground to life and continue to build a stronger and inclusive community around it!
